Our Organization

Hope for the Environment Organization (HEO) is a Tanzanian non-governmental organization officially registered on 10 August 2025 under the Non-Governmental Organizations Act, 2002, with registration number 00NGO/R/9310. The organization operates across Tanzania Mainland.
HEO was established in 2015 as a community initiative dedicated to promoting environmental conservation and sustainable development. Since its early beginnings, HEO has worked to address critical environmental challenges such as deforestation, pollution, poor waste management, and the impacts of climate change—including floods, droughts, and land degradation.
Our vision is to see a responsible society that values, protects, and restores the environment for the well-being of current and future generations.
Our mission is to raise environmental awareness, empower communities—particularly youth and women—and implement practical, inclusive, and sustainable solutions for a cleaner and healthier environment.
With a decade of experience, HEO has collaborated with a diverse network of partners, including local communities, government institutions, civil society organizations, faith-based groups, and other NGOs. Through these partnerships, we have implemented impactful initiatives such as tree planting campaigns, environmental education workshops, climate action projects, and clean energy programs across both urban and rural areas.
Today, Hope for the Environment Organization continues to grow as a trusted partner in advancing environmental sustainability, climate resilience, and community empowerment throughout Tanzania.
